Watts (W) is a standard metric that measures the base power consumed by a light to produce illumination.
A watt references to the base power that generates heat. In outdoor lighting, wattage indicates the minimum power a fixture will draw from the main cable line order to operate. Generally, less is better. When a fixture has a low wattage, it is considered more efficient. The lower the wattage, the more money homeowners will save on their household energy bills. Energy-efficient fixtures are also better for the environment, which is always a plus!
BOLD uses the highest quality and most energy-efficient LEDs to ensure the wattage of our fixtures is well-below the industry standard.
*Please note: Wattage is a measure of consumption and not a measure of light output. Wattage should not be used as a way to anticipate light output or how bright a fixture will be. When choosing the transformer you will need for a project based on capacity, we recommend professionals to always count Volt-Amps (VA) instead of Watts.*
