All BOLD Source transformers must be plugged into a GFCI outlet and mounted least 18" off the ground.
Source transformers are outdoor and indoor rated and come included with a clear acrylic cover for extra protection against the elements. You can mount your Source transformers on the side of a house, inside a pool shed, storage room or garage. If installing the transformer indoors, you may use a standard home receptacle, but please check your local codes and regulations to ensure you are safely installing in your area.
We also recommend mounting your Source transformer at least 18 inches off the ground to avoid rain or snow backsplash, and to leave a drip loop to keep water from running along the wire and entering the electrical outlet connection.
